805 Rollover Kills 2

rolloverSAN DIEGO — A San Diego man and a woman from Spring Valley were killed and two others were injured early Thursday in a rollover accident on Interstate 805. The 20-year-old driver and three 21-year-old women were heading north in a black Lexus GS 300 about 1:20 a.m. when the driver tried to take the state Route 94 connector, California Highway Patrol Officer Art Athans said. For unknown reasons he lost control of the car and it veered off the side of the ramp to the left and overturned several times. The driver and a woman sitting in the right rear passenger seat were ejected and fatally wounded, Athans said. They were not wearing seat belts, Athans said. The two other passengers, who were belted in, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were hospitalized, the officer said. The names of the victims have not been released. Investigators are awaiting the results of toxicology tests to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. No other vehicles were involved, said the officer involved with the matter.
