No one saw the accident, but passersby noticed the brush fire near a Home Depot and contacted authorities. The Medical Examiners Office has not released any information about the wrongful death victim yet. After causing the freeway to close for over 2 hours, it reopened to traffic at 8:30 a.m. when the fire was extinguished.

A witness of the accident said the victim was crossing the Grand Avenue intersection near Mission Bay Drive at around 8:00 p.m. The vehicle that struck her was a Nissan Armada. The driver of the SUV that hit her stopped immediately after the accident, and called the San Diego Police. The woman was taken to the hospital with major head injuries, where she later died from these injuries.

The injury victim was taken to a hospital, where he died Sunday. San Diego Police said it was unclear if the pedestrian was trying to cross the street or was standing in the road. The 19-year-old man who was driving was not arrested.

Oncoming vehicles began to swerve to avoid her but she was then run over by a 2000 Toyota whose driver was unable to avoid her. Rogers was pronounced dead at a hospital at 7:55 p.m. Officers are investigation and are trying to determine why she was on the freeway.

As she walked across the street eastbound at the intersection, she was struck by a Honda Civic driven by a 75-year-old woman. Police and paramedics were called to scene in San Diego’s Midtown neighborhood about 9:25 p.m. The woman was taken to a hospital and the road was closed for an investigation.

The crash was reported at around 8 p.m. near Westfield UTC mall. The man was crossing La Jolla Village Drive from south to north just east of the intersection when he was hit by a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 48-year-old man.

Firefighters extricated the man from the vehicle, and then pronounced dead at the scene. Before the accident, police had received a call about a vehicle being driven recklessly on the Silver Strand. 10News is a media partner of U-T San Diego.

The driver turned around to investigate further and saw a dark sedan crash into the woman, slow down, then drive off, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office. The witness called 911. Paramedics took her to a hospital, where she died. An autopsy was being conducted Tuesday afternoon.
